The engine will start but not start - Automotive Repair Tips

Many times in the past as an automotive technician, I would diagnose a car or had a problem that prevented the car from tipping over or the engine which prevented the car will be given to start the engine. These are two completely different scenarios, and these issues are addressed in different ways. Sometimes, if the writer service creates a work order, it would not convey the real problem is that the client was experiencing. If ensuring the customer service or the writer wouldthe correct explanation of the problem is written, somebody could avoid unnecessary trips to the car with the wrong tools. For example, if the machine does not run at all, I would take my box jump with me. And when the car is cranked, but no more than a start, I want my scanning tools and some starting fluid.

A machine that cranks over but not start, in many cases because of a bad fuel pump, a broken timing belt or a cam sensor crank sensor ineffective. The first stepThe diagnosis is not to start one to scan for codes with a code reader or scan tool. About 40% of the cars towed that I worked in the last 25 years, has been furnished a defective fuel pump or fuel gauge read wrong and the car was simply out of fuel. Yes, some people actually have in their cars when all they need is some gas to be towed! If the fuel gauge indicates that the fuel in the tank, most people naturally assume that the machine is making fuel. But if the fuel unit or sending DMSsomething was off, the car actually empty tank. An affiliate of the easiest ways to test a fuel pump problem is a bit 'of the liquid spray into the air intake while trying to start the car. If the car is just starting, it's a good chance that the fuel pump does not work or the machine is out of gas. You can also apply to the fuel pump hum heard when the key is turned on for the first time. Even if a fuel pump ineffective is suspected, always check a good technicianCheck if the power and ground is supplied to the pump to eliminate the possibility of a faulty relay or an electrical problem. fuel pressure is a pressure gauge and if there is pressure, pulse can be controlled in several ways, including the nozzles of the most common, are examined the use of noid lights. If the injectors are not the wrist does not start the engine.

Broken timing belt caused about 40% of the tow ins in my experience. A broken timing belt can causethe car feels as if running out of fuel while driving. When you try to start the car with the engine running normally faster than normal with the engine with lower compression of the lag time and the valves open at the wrong time. If the timing belt could break, there is sometimes a code in-vehicle ECU (Electronic Control Unit) can be set to a signal from the cam sensor. When this code is available, it is sometimes possible to check if the camera moves through the oil removalCap, while someone reaches the starter. The top cover removed to allow time, access to the belt for inspection. Most of the time when a timing belt breaks your teeth (or wheels) are eliminated from the lower sprocket crankshaft pulley to prevent the belt to rotate the camshaft.

The absence of pulses from the injectors as I have said a vehicle can not be exported. This brings me to the third most common cause of a car that cranks over but not start as20% of the tow-in, I worked for the following problem. Many times the cause of the momentum that is missing is a bad cam or crank sensor. If your computer can not see the crank or rotate the camera, the injectors will not be provided in pulses. Just a quick note which may be a cam or crank sensor should be bad for the RPM on the clock movement (if any) when attempting to control to start the engine. If you have a scan tool is not just a code reader, the cam and crankshaft sensor datareviewed on many vehicles by accessing the appropriate screen. If laps are not displayed when you try to start the car, its sensor could be defective.

Obviously there are many different brands of car ignition systems, fuel delivery that need a service manual to diagnose correctly or to investigate. But with the above tips and tricks I've used over the years there will be reopening cases more likely it is hoped that you send in the right direction.
